Clementine Mulled Cider

Warm spiced cider gets a bright citrus lift from clementine peels, simmered with cinnamon and cloves until the kitchen smells like winter. Spike it with rum or keep it clean; either way, this is the drink that makes cold days worth it.

Ingredients

4 servings

  • 11 quart apple cider
  • 1Peel of 2 clementines, cut into strips
  • 11 cinnamon stick
  • 16 whole cloves
  • 18 ounces rum (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring cider, peels, cinnamon stick and cloves to a boil in a large saucepan. Reduce heat; simmer 5 minutes. Keep warm until serving time. Strain into mugs; add rum, if desired.
