Rich homemade chocolate syrup meets bright seltzer in this grown-up soda. A silky cocoa base infused with vanilla bean gets stirred with fizzy water for pure indulgence in a glass. Cold, chocolatey, impossibly refreshing.

Ingredients

4 servings

  • 1Water 2 cups
  • 1Sugar 1/2 cup
  • 1Cocoa powder 1/2 cup
  • 1Vanilla bean Seeds scraped from 1/3 bean
  • 1Chocolate Syrup 2 cups
  • 1Seltzer 2 cups

Instructions

  1. 1. In a medium saucepan, mix water, sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla and bring to a boil.

  2. 2. Take off heat, strain, and let cool.

  3. 3. Add Chocolate Syrup to seltzer and stir. Divide among tall glasses.
