Ingredients

  • 11 pound Chinese broccoli, trimmed (or 2 bunches Broccolini)
  • 12 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 12 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 11/4 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • 11/3 cup roasted soy nuts or peanuts
  • 1crushed

Instructions

  1. 1. In a pot filled with 2 inches of water, steam the broccoli or Broccolini until the stems are just tender, 4 to 5 minutes. Transfer to a platter.

  2. 2. Discard the water. Add the butter, soy sauce, five-spice powder, and 2 teaspoons water and place over medium-low heat.

  3. 3. Stir until the butter has melted.

  4. 4. Drizzle the mixture over the vegetables, top with the nuts, and serve.
