Black Forest Shooter
From the kitchen of CarlyA boozy dessert shot that tastes like Black Forest cake in liquid form. Layered crème de cacao, tart cherry juice, and silky cream float in careful succession, then topped with chocolate shavings. Simple technique, impressive presentation, genuinely delicious.

Ingredients
4 servings
- 12 teaspoons chilled white crème de cacao
- 12 teaspoons chilled Balaton or Morello cherry juice
- 12 teaspoons chilled heavy cream
- 11 (1-oz) piece chocolate (not unsweetened) for shaving
- 1a 2-oz shot glass
Instructions
Put crème de cacao in shot glass. Hold a regular teaspoon (not a measuring spoon) upside down over liqueur (spoon should be at a diagonal, with only the tip touching the liqueur), then gently pour cherry juice over curved part of spoon to float it on top of crème de cacao.
Using a clean, dry teaspoon, gently pour cream into glass in same manner, creating a third layer. Shave some chocolate over cream using a vegetable peeler.
